Halem’s algorithmic workflow has been interpreted into the editorial spread through the use of a strong grid structure. Whilst Hansje doesn’t use grids within her work, her mathematic and structured approach drew many similarities to a strong grid structure. The editorial begins with only page furniture, and develops into a complete design system towards the end of the editorial.
Type Imagery
Typographic imagery was developed , and since algorithmic design is a common theme throughout Halem's work, the focus to create artwork that used an algorithmic approach. Using a computer-based algorithm, a system was created that randomly allocates letters to randomly allocated coordinates within the artwork boundaries.
