Downtown Bangkok
A 3D printed map of Bangkok's urban core, spanning Siam to Thonglor, visualising the city's vertical density in physical form.

Strategy:
The Idea
Bangkok is a dense urban maze, where high-rise towers stand alongside a row of 1960’s shophouses. This work reframes that complexity through a city-scale lens, translating urban density into physical form. The model highlights the vertical range of Bangkok, alongside the connective infrastructure such as the BTS Skytrain and MRT Bangkok, revealing the underlying structure within the city’s perceived chaos.
Production Process
· Base geometry generated from digital map data (map2model.com)
· Map refinement and reconstruction in Autodesk Fusion 360.
· Modular tile system for assembly and scalability in Autodesk Fusion 360.
· 3D printed using a Bambu Lab A1.
· Visual assets created using Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Lightroom.
The Model
The city-scale model has been designed at approximately 1:7000 scale.
The model is comprised of 15 interlocking tiles, each measuring 20cmx20cm, forming a complete footprint of 60cmx100cm.
